interesting analogy, only one thing is missing the thousands of animals in the forests and wilderness areas who also release these gases too and humans as well, farts smell bad for a reason, most of these gases do very little harm to our atomosphere, co2 is not a pollutant it is plant food, methane is usable gas I believe that is what they are pumping up from the ground, people are so focused on so called pollutants (notice only pollution they focus on is the ones that are the result of prosperity and abundance not scarcity?) that they miss the real enviromental issues that get ignored like military waste dumped into the oceans by the tons every year, or all the hot air coming out of the mouths of "experts" at the united nations who dont know any more about theses things then even I do, frankly I do not put much creditbility to the figures of how much water or food or gas is produced by lifestock raising or anything else, I do know that ethanol is creating more pollution then just using regular gasoline but no one in the enviromental movement seems to care that this is costing them and myself included way more in terms of money, lost energy use, and higher cost of food (like corn and soy) then necessary. if you eliminate or reduce meat production you actually will create more pollution if co2 is considered a pollutant or methane or whatever, because the means more trees will have to be cut down, more fuel used for tractors and transportation of foods and more food will have to grown to get enough caloires and there are just to many places where it is not economical or sustainable to grow where meat growing is quite good, because sheep goats, cattle etc can eat plants that grow in areas where crops are impossible without alot of expense in terms of water, time, soil condition and the like, if you get right down to it, and don't worry about water, it will always be recycled like it has for thousands of years, it is called rain fall and snowmelt and from what I can tell about this past winter we will have plenty of water with all the snow we had especially in the western mountains. and I don't want to forget there are areas where people cannot thrive on a plant based diets as they live in colder regions of the world and eat primarly meat.if you study the diets of so called primitive people you will see their plant based diets has not done them much good they have small statutes, purtruding bellies (probably from malnorishement) and short life spans, anemia is a serious problem with them as well especially many places in africa, they suffer terrible diseases because they do not have access to medical care like we have in america and we have this because of innovation and technolgy and access to cheap energy (which is being eroded away by unsustainble policies of enviromental regulations which do nothing for the enviroment but does us alot of harm)and meat is a good source of cholesterol sulfate(many areas do not get enough sunshine to create it through the skin) too as this substances basically is your first line of defense against illness, and it is the glue that holds your cells together and keeps microbes and bad substances and glycated material out. you cannot get this substance from plants. meat fish and butter and whole milk is a excellent source of high density energy, you don't need to eat as much to have energy or be satiated, if I live on plant foods i would have to eat a ton of it to be full or have energy and it takes more energy to digest and metabolise plant based foods then meat and fat. most plants are loaded with toxins as well (not just from man added chemicals) but plants themselves produce toxins as form of defense against fungus and bacteria and pest too, that is why they have to cross breed plants with less toxins in them to make plants less bitter (now you know where the bitterness comes from)which means more pesticide applications to make up for this lack of internal pesticides.that is why many bitter greens need little pesticides and why sweeter foods need more.

I would suggest everyone google corruption of the DEA and the pain management MD's (Dr. Voll....) who get their DEA licenses pulled because the DEA doesn't like anyone else pres. pain meds as they don't make their money off the streets. When physicians have theirs pulled, the DEA come in to the office with a 'cop' complete with handcuffs. They state what they are doing wrong and give them a choice of paying a fine of 1-2 million or hand over their lic. This is obviously corruption! No warning either verbal or written, no suspension to change the errors (if there really are any)!!!! Just pay or they take their ability to pres narcotics.
Watch the Thrive documentary online for free, they expose the AMA and show how the tests are written by the AMA. There were over 50 physicians at the Chopra Center conf, saying they wanted to help people, not do surgery, etc. It was fantastic.
Its such a fraud that MD's are given no real classes on nutrition or the meridian system, the most important part of the body!!!
